We are excited to announce that applications for the READ JAPAN PROJECT in 2025 are now open. To apply, institutions must obtain a recommendation from a Japanese diplomatic establishment (embassy, consulate, or permanent mission). Those with a recommendation will receive application details and a link to the online form directly from the secretariat.

Deadline for online submissions: July 3, 2025, 23:59 (UTC).

Applicants may choose from among 354 Japan-related titles (please refer to the “List of Books”).

Please carefully read the Call for Applications 2025 before initiating the online application process. The application must be completed from start to finish in one sitting and cannot be saved in parts.
